OK, So Thailand is done.

I want to go back and I want more friends with me. I can never do a first trip again, but I am going back and I will improve on my experience. I so want to share my trip and so want other to share with others, however I have been home for a month and am now in Paris for my 33 anniversary and yet another adventure. This one being more an adventure in food but none the less equally engaging.

So I am dog tired, rolled into the garden island of Phi Phi and thought I would recharge and rest up a little.

Well The guide books said nothing about the “Moon” festivities that are taking place on the island this week. Not getting much sleep because there are bands on the beach ALL NIGHT LONG!! I would change hotels but I pre-paid so I am stuck. Thank god for the i-Pod. I can drift off to nice music and not that bad reggae down the road.

So Phi Phi is a garden, a little too many people for my taste and all I could do with the limited i-net access is post picts. But I am here to say that that place is fun. Absolutely gorgeous and fun.

I am tired and my brain can’t totally comprehend all that I have done. I think I’ll head home early. I miss home.

Landed at noon in Saim Reip, hired a moter bike to take me to my hotel. The 23 year old driver was cool so I hired him for the next two days

For various reasons I am not allowed to volunteer with the tigers. I am too old, I am not willing to commit to a month and the person that decides who comes and who does not, is not the person I emailed.

There are more than one tiger temple and yep some are scams. But I did spend a wonderful day with the tigers, and the wonderful volunteers and the Thai people that work at the Temple.

If the last three years has taught me anything, it is that you take everything you can from every moment you have and regret nothing. I wish things had worked out like I had expected, but am grateful for the time I did have.

These are happy cats.

Wanted to go to the floating market south of Bangkok just to understand the canal system that was the main travel system for 800 years. What I ended up doing is playing catch with an elephant, (name kgankp, or gray Elvis, cause he swivels his hips) eating banana pancakes and yes an ant egg omelet. IT was fantastic. Ant eggs are like gamey roe, you add enough chillies and garlic and all is good.

I think I am headed up to the tigers early but who knows. Life is good and I have learned several things in the last 5 days.

1) My family and friends are everything to me. I love keeping my wife and friends in tune with what I am doing. Wish they were here!

2) Everything in Bangkok is a scam. But because it is so cheap I am not sure I mind. My American self wants what I want! BUT I am not in control, so I am trying to flow.

3) Bangkok drivers are WACK! (I learned that from young people!)

4) Life is very cheap outside of the US. There have been several times where my heart breaks.

5) Russian travlers will wear a speedo anywhere, including a British pub. They would not let me take a picture but it was lmao funny

Three things I suggest you NOT try ….

There is nothing eles to say. Bangkok is like Bladerunner on roids. It’s a sensory overload that I can not describe. I hate to think that I am at a loss for words, but… OMFG this place is different.
